On the occasion of the World Expo 2020, held in Dubai from 1st October 2021 to 31st March 2022, a team of highly qualified people was favoured, capable of promoting the country of São Tomé and Príncipe by being able to use no less than five languages (Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Italian).
In the choice of personnel, the importance of gender inclusivity was emphasised, as well as that of the new generations in the world of work, which saw the participation of:
Norma Massari: Consulate of São Tomé and Príncipe in Milan
Leocadia Reis: ALISEI
Celina Delgado: Ministry of Finance - APCI Agencia Promoção e Investimentos
N'Dginga Costa: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Cooperation and Communities
Ester Dias: Ministry of Finance Directorate General of Customs
Dilson Carvalho (Commissioner General) and Jose Antonio Vera Cruz (Pavilion Director): Ministry of Tourism and Culture - Tourism Directorate.
During Expo 2020, the sale of local products was also encouraged, thanks to the setting up of a sales point, also within the pavilion, which allowed the country to interface itself with international markets including the United Arab Emirates.
All of this was developed following processes of customs clearance, cataloguing, price forecasting and sales activities carried out by São Tomé and Príncipe’s Pavilion team.
